What is a contact lens fitting?
A contact lens fitting goes beyond your routine eye exam to find the contact lens that best suits you. Our doctors evaluate your eye health, shape, and lifestyle to match you with a contact lens that is comfortable. Whether you are new to contacts or a lifelong contact lens wearer, we are ready to help!
We fit a variety of different contact lenses. We offer daily, weekly, biweekly, and monthly lenses. Additionally, we offer multifocal lenses, lenses that correct astigmatism, colored contact lenses, RGP lenses, scleral lenses, and hybrid lenses.
I've never worn contacts before, what is the process?
So you want to try contacts? Great! The first step is to come in for a contact lens fitting, (sometimes referred to as a contact lens exam or a contact lens evaluation). After the doctor determines which brand, type, and fit of lens is best for you, you will have a one on one training session with one of our technicians. The sessions are each one hour long, during which the technician will teach you the correct methods to insert and remove the lenses. When you are able to insert and remove contact lenses one time in each eye, you have passed training, and are able to order a supply of lenses! If you are unable to pass on the first training session, that is perfectly okay! We will schedule another session for you to come back and give it another try!
What to bring to my contact lens fitting?
If this is your first time at our office, please bring your most recent contact lenses, or the information regarding brand, type and prescription for your contact lenses. You can also bring a copy of your most up-to-date contact lens prescription.
